A Night Worth Waiting For

A golden angelic figure stands atop a spire with a trumpet, silhouetted against a bright full moon. The statue exudes a sense of majesty and calm. The statue is the Angle Moroni atop the Ogden Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I've taken lots of pictures of the moon, but last night—November 4—was the Beaver Supermoon, the largest and brightest of 2025, and an absolutely super night. I finally captured a photo I've been chasing for ages: the enormous moon rising low on the horizon with a warm, amber-orange glow, its surface revealing sharp craters, vast dark maria, and subtle rays in stunning detail, all set against a deep indigo sky dotted with faint stars. It's even better than I imagined—14% larger and 30% brighter than a typical full moon, making every texture pop with ethereal radiance.
