Old Faithful
I've visited Yellowstone National Park countless times—more than I can even count! I still head up there often with my family for those unforgettable adventures. This is one of my all-time favorite photos of the iconic Old Faithful geyser, capturing its timeless power and beauty.
Old Faithful is one of the most famous geysers in the world, located in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Discovered and named in 1870 by the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition for its reliable eruptions, it was the first geyser in the park to receive a name and has been erupting predictably ever since Yellowstone became the world's first national park in 1872. It's not the largest or most regular geyser in the park, but it erupts more frequently than other big ones, with intervals averaging about 90 minutes (ranging from 50 to 127 minutes). Each eruption lasts 1.5 to 5 minutes, shooting boiling water 106 to 184 feet high and expelling 3,700 to 8,400 gallons.
